Williamsburg Neighborhood Sign -- In Williamsburg Circle

Please note: This website is no longer being maintained.  Please see the new website at www.wca-arlington.org

The Williamsburg neighborhood is one of the most attractive residential communities of Arlington, thanks in part to the Williamsburg residents who worked together through the Williamsburg Civic Association (WCA) to protect our neighborhood:

  • WCA successfully opposed five different attempts to build a gas station on Minor Hill.
  • In the 60s,WCA campaigned to landscape the Williamsburg traffic circle.
  • In the 70s, WCA succeeded in having a leaf storage site on Minor Hill removed.
  • WCA supported efforts to landscape the area at the base of Minor Hill.
  • In the 90s, WCA successfully opposed efforts to build a monopole on Minor Hill

Recent WCA-sponsored projects include:

  • Installation of neighborhood signs and associated landscaping
  • Sharp Park Information Kiosk & Park Bench
  • New landscaping & a lighted flag for Williamsburg Circle
  • Traffic calming on Powhatan Street
  • Landscaped medians on Little Falls Road
  • Landscaped medians on Williamsburg Boulevard
  • Minor Hill Land Use Plan

How you can help: Get involved! Earlier generations of community activists joined forces to make the Williamsburg neighborhood the attractive and congenial community it is today. Now it's our turn. Whatever your interests, time constraints, and skills, we can use your help. Examples:

  • Join WCA. Annual dues are only $5 per person. Sign up at a meeting or download the membership form from this web site.
  • Sign up to receive WCA email. Email the Web Editor.
  • Come to WCA meetings (usually the 4th Tuesday, usually at Little Falls Church).
  • Volunteer to distribute newsletters & flyers. Or come to a labelling party for those newsletters we send out through the US Post Office.
  • Sign up to work on one of the Civic Association projects.
  • Volunteer to help maintain the landscaping in one of our project areas.
  • Volunteer to serve on a committee or working group
