WCA 3 April 2002 Letter to County Manager on Construction Sites

Dear Mr. Carlee:

I live on Little Falls Road, only a few blocks away from the structure under construction at the corner of Sycamore and North 27th Street. (The address of the structure is 6430 North 27th Street.)

This structure has been under construction for several years. During that time, the lot has been strewn with a great deal of what appears to be used construction materials. It is, by any measure, an eyesore.

I have been in contact with County personnel in code enforcement and building inspection. Today I spoke with Ms Vivien Elmendorf (Code Enforcement Inspector) and Mr. Mike Louis (from building permits). They both informed me that, to the best of their knowledge, Arlington County has no code to regulate the state of construction sites.

Is this true? If so, how would I go about getting this changed? Please let me know.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely

Ellen Jones
