Deputy
Zoning Administrator's Response to WCA Questions on Sycamore Structure
and Variance Notification Procedures
11 September 2001

Following
is a response to your questions in order:
(1) We have the survey
and are still evaluating it. It appears that the height of the building
(measured to the mid roof line) is less than 35 feet. However, the house
is approximately 3.3 feet closer than permitted on the left side and
0.1 feet closer than permitted on the 27th Street North side. I will
send you a copy of the survey once we have decided a course of action.
(2) The County has a negotiated contract with the Journal for
our legal ads. We get reduced rates. Even with the reduced rates the
ads run as much as $1000 or more per month. We have no such deal with
the Sun Gazette.
(3) Demolition was allowed as part of the building permit for the additions.
No separate demolition permit was issued. As I have said before, the
owner was not supposed to demolish the north and east walls, but was
allowed to replace them by the Zoning Administrator.
(4) I will investigate making the Variance reports available on line
as we continue to upgrade our system.
