Neighborhood Signs Committee Meeting
15 February 2001

The Signs Committee met on Thursday, 15 February. Chris Shaheen, the Neighborhood Planner from Arlington County's Neighborhood Conservation office, joined the four members of the Signs Committee.

The Signs Committee narrowed the sign choices down to two options:

  • Monochromatic Sign: This will feature three different shades from the same family of colors, with the building a darker shade and the shadows on the building a slightly different shade in the same family of colors, to give the sign a three-dimensional appearance.
  • Multicolored Sign: This would have a light beige (ecru) background, with a color picture (brick red building, dark gray roof, off-white trim to match the background color, green trees, green grass, green door, and probably green text).

Both signs would have a border around the edge to give the signs more depth and give the appearance of a frame.

Participants also reviewed locations for the signs. Chris Shaheen proposed three changes in location, suggesting that these proposals be discussed and approved by the membership at the February 27th meeting of the Civic Association.
